sepratt ex nursing sister

by sheila pratt

When I was a ward sister one of our most impotant priorities was prevention of dvts. Post opertive the patient wore anti embolism stockings and was given calcium heperin, but the most important was early mobilisation. My patients underwent major surgury but we ensured they moved around early and were hydrated. So get up and move around and drink plenty of water lads. xx

This advice applies to us all, I think. We all sit far too long at our desks, watching TV, in our cars. We all need to get up and move more often.
